Ain’t this gonna get over???

An impulse is enough to remind you of what you love and truly cherish.
Many friends reminded me of how I had stopped writing my blog, however none’s words pricked me, until today when I sat down to watch the debating session on the LokPal Bill in the Lok Sabha. I wonder how much the ministers have in them to argue on and on baselessly for hours. From the debating experience I have, I have known that to win a debate it is good to stick to your arguments, bring on issues which strictly prove your point and convince others without getting into a brawl. Then how come do the ministers in India, who have been debating (on behalf of the aam janta, oops!!!), most of them since more than a decade or two, not know this. Sigh!
The people, we gave the power to carry our voices to the centre, today, much to my dismay, were still arguing on the necessity of the Lokpal bill and the Lokayukats. This made me speculate if they really are our voices or do they want us to be curbing under their voices.
Till this date, I was excusing myself on holding a view on how the Lokpal bill should be. Yes, it is 101% true that I have no idea on how a bill is drafted; more or less I am not interested either. But this rant and rave alarms me, I should hold an opinion on the fights concerning me (well, yeeeessss… every Indian should).
The purest of intentions are the ones most misunderstood. Ok. But this narrates whose story? The Government?  The Opposition? Or is it Anna? Anna Hazare could not succeed in drawing a huge crowd on to the streets to support his version of the bill, the Congress is still trying to prove that its version of the bill is strong and effective where as the BJP is still not sure of the version it would have come out with if they formed the Government. The Congress wants the house to trust them. Oh La Laa!  The Congress is fighting to introduce the bill so that it gets in safe hands and escape the caveats from Anna Hazare. And there will be no doubts in guessing the name of the political party who will be politically benefited if Congress does not succeed in introducing the bill in this winter session. Amidst all of this, we also have people, politicians questioning on Why Anna? A few of them who were eclipsed by Anna Hazare ironically say that they believe in the LokPal bill and its benefits but do not want one man to grab the fame. Lo kar lo baat!
I was gashed on listening to the only MP I adore, Mr. Sashi Tharoor, debate in the Lok Sabha. No it was not about how he speaks (aah! I can listen to him speak for hours, he is that a good speaker), it was about how adamantly he supported the Government projected bill. On the other side there was this MP who rattles blemishes on others, none other than Mr. Lalu Prasad Yadav who proposed an “All-India save Anna health Committee”, he is a nuisance. The Prime Minister’s speech was less of a debate on the bill and more of a political speech about the achievements of his government with an eye on the forthcoming elections. And Sushma Swaraj is still singing the song of praises of the work done by Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s government.
But seriously, this is all getting mundane. I hate writing it again and again on how everyone is fascinated and engrossed in filling their own pockets. Can this come to an end please? Can you ministers ever learn the value of the power you are showered with? Come join the people and become a part of the change. And only this will help in turning a developing India to a developed one.
And this reminds me of why I write. The contentment, the pleasure, the happiness I find in me after writing is immeasurable. Till I come back with a new post, a small message for all of you. When you know your own right, live it.

I support thee

Several events have been occurring around me, and yes, many of them have even affected me, yet, nothing motivated me to scribble down something on this page. I am a Die Hard Indian Cricket fan; yet, I did not feel like sharing my views with you all even when India was whitewashed by the English. Leave this aside; the whole nation has come to a standstill to raise their voice on India Against Corruption, and yet even this did not leave a major impact on me to raise my voice. But then, this happens, and I was left speechless.

Tomorrow i.e. 25th August, 2011, I along with my few friends, some not, or you can also say with my college mates, will attend a rally, rally to show my support for Anna Hazare, rally to finally raise my voice on India Against Corruption. Yes, I support the cause; of course I believe it is going to bring around a change in the country. Also it is amazing to see Indians in India and also abroad, come together to make their voice heard. Good. Here, if you might be thinking that just because I am going to attend a rally, I felt like writing this piece, I would say NO.

Well, to be honest enough, I wanted to bring up my issue when I write next for my college monthly magazine (nist e_news), but a few well-wishers thought bringing up the issue there would lead to many raised eye-brows, and in turn harm me. So what? I have this, Random Rambles, to bring up my point of view, also make it heard and stand out in the crowd. My friends in the college are well aware of the student’s election coming up in a few days, and for others I would like to tell you that, as in every college, my college too selects and elects the students governing body, and this year it’s going to be from my batch. No, I am not standing for any post and no this blog is not to garner support for me or any of my friend. It is just that since this all is happening in my batch, I am so called well aware of what is going on. The only motive of the students standing for the election is “Jo jitna jeb mei daal sakta h daal lo”. Sad. Isn’t it?  Well yes, atleast when a 74 year old man is leading and staking his life to abolish corruption from the country. What is more funny here is, many of these, the so called student’s who will be members of the governing body of my college, will also be attending the rally tomorrow which I mentioned previously. The most corrupted in my college right now will show that they are against corruption...Ha ha ha!!!

Look, who is supporting the cause to bring an end to the corruption! Is it going to benefit the country or harm it? The leaders of my college today might be the leaders of the nation tomorrow (sssssshhhh!!! well, I know they never can be!) and it does not give a good feeling. I feel sorry for the old man who believes that people who are coming out to support his cause actually think like him. The country will get paralyzed very soon, if such is the youth of this country.

I am sure, this is not only going on in my neighborhood or my college, and this is the story everywhere. How many of the millions who have turned up at various places can firmly and truly tell that they won’t be a part of the corruption in their future. I do not know what the Government is going to do on the Jan Lokpal Bill, neither do do I know how effectively the Bill will run even if it is passed. I have a solution for the corruption going on, all I am asking the public protesting today with candles and banners, is to come up with the corrupted deals they have undergone, then the task to abolish corruption won’t be left on to the ministers and the men in white alone. Let every man speak on what they have done to support or encourage corruption, and also if you are not sure that you will stay away from corruption tomorrow do not support the cause today. You are misguiding the nation today and if the Bill passes tomorrow the nation will not spare you. Give it a thought! Change if you are wrong and let India be a better place to live in.

Mr. Anna Hazare, this was what I could do on my part to Fight Against Corruption.

**** U ENGLISH CRICKET PLAYERS!!!

Hello all,

Before you start reading this post, let me warn you I was not at all in a good mood before I began writing. I wish I could fill up all the DASHES n BEEPS, but no I'll try my best to control my feelings and write a good post for you to read.
I agree, England played superbly in the first test against India in Lords, and they very well deserved the win. Coming to the second test, India had an amazing first two days of play against the English, they played well enough to let the critics shut their mouth. Superb bowling and batsman well defended it to a portion. The English men knew they were pushed into the back seat and if everything continued as it was, India had maximum chances of winning the game... Obviously, they felt bad but I had not even in my dreams imagined that they would do anything (anything, means anything and to any extent!), to get back into the game.

Michael Vaughan (@VaughanCricket) , the ex-english cricketer, tweeted "Has Vaseline on the outside edge saved the day for Laxman?" Dear Mr. Vaugan (see, I am still trying my best to show him some respect even when he does not deserve any bit of it!!! ), you just forgot that you were questioning the integrity of a Very Very Special Indian man. You tweeted this and still support your argument when the bowler himself checked on Laxman's bat and commented that he could not find anything dishonest there... By the way, Stuart Broad, who on earth gave you the permission to check on Laxman's bat????
Back to you Mr. Vaughan, did you actually think you would be applauded with praise on such a baseless and insulting tweet of yours? I read a few of your tweets which showed some slangs sent to you by Indians... Well, here I go and add many more slangs for you... I will not use any here... Are you a moron??? You feel proud on this... Aah, my god! how did I forget, you where the one to apologize to Zaheer for throwing jelly beans on the pitch, and that too when you lost the match to India in 2007... Cheating is a part of your blood and you English men have always done this!
Back to the bad old time, you came to India and stole all our wealth, you ruined us and did everything to finish us... But no, we stood up, fought hard and showed that cheats and thief's have an end... It is again time to show you and make you realize what you are...

I do not know what is in store for us and what the outcome of the match will be, all I hope and pray is India plays good and goes on to win the match.
Dear Mr. Vaughan, by tweeting this "@DGoughie Just woke up to barrage of abuse from India...What are they going to be like when they lose this Test?",  you invited yourself more trouble.

For the time being, @warne888 (Mr. Shane Warne) , with all due respect I HAD for you, I ask you to shut your mouth up!!!!!!!!
India doesn't need a certificate from you to prove that they are No. 1.

Indian Cricket Team, your unanimous decision to call back Bell even when he was actually out only shows that it was your hard work and effort that took you to the Numero Uno position and you very well deserve it!!!

For the readers, I request you to keep supporting the Indian team and pray that they give their best...

I know, I know, I am STUPID!

I was kidnapped by pirates and we ran aground in an unknown territory of the Caribbean where I ate Coconuts and Crabs. Needless to say, my digestive system was ruined, and I am stuck up in the bathroom. After that there was a knock on my door, I saw Aishwarya Rai and Abhisekh Bachchan begging me to let them in. The media is chasing them all around. And then I was at the center court of Wimbledon watching Nadal demolishing his opponent (whose name I do not remember!).

I don’t remember what happens in the mid time and all of a sudden I find myself in a messy, tangled, cluttered, muddled, jumbled room. I felt as if I knew the room well, and I was the only one who could walk around the room without getting hurt. I rubbed my eyes, and Lo, I realized I was fast sleeping in my own room in the hostel. Yay, this is why I felt attached to it.

(More or less the room looked like this!)

I searched for my cell phone, saw the time and aphorized myself. What the HECK! It was already 12:00 p.m. It was Sunday and I had to go out with a friend at 9:00. I pity her, not because she had to leave alone, but because I know how many a times she might have banged and knocked and thumped my door. Semester break is on, friends are visiting their parents and she was my only soul-mate back in the hostel. Damn me! I have ruined my Sunday.

Rats were already jumping and hopping and leaping and diving in my stomach. Soon after having lunch, I realized I had nothing to do. There was no current for an hour or two. Yes, I remember it was 3:30 when I could switch on my lappy which was already discharged. Hell, what do I do now??? I double clicked on the Mozilla Firefox icon on my desktop and restored my previous session, and here I was logged in to my Facebook and twitter accounts, with NDTV on one tab. It was then I remembered that I had two episodes of How I met your mother (HIMUM) unseen. Well with a smile I thought, finally I had something to pass my time. :)

There was a ping on my gtalk account, it was my sister. I had barely talked to her for 5 minutes when she asked me when I would go for dinner. I laughed at her (she doesn’t know this) supposing who goes for dinner at 5 or 6 in the evening. And then again I glanced at my cell to check the time. Implausibly it was 8:15 p.m. Shey, what did I do the whole time?  Even I do not know, just saw the two remaining episodes of HIMUM, surfed NDTV, read a few articles, saw a few pics of IIFA and that’s it!!!

This was my Sunday, noooo-way. But yes! How horrible, isn’t it? :(

It was around 8:30 I realized that since I had woken up I had been wondering and speculating and questioning myself what to do to remain busy, and I got so busy that I did not get time to get a bath. The whole day I was wedged in my bed.

Again nooo-wayyyy!!! This has to be impossible. :(

This Sunday is ruined, but I promise to make my next Sunday fruitful, atleast I’ll go shopping. :) I am going to make my next Sunday a Funday instead of getting fastened with my bed and laptop.

MeMorieS

Hello all!!!

Back after a long time... had so much to write but wasn't feeling any good to share my thoughts on the recent happs and happenings... I am actually fed up of the on going political activities in the country... I am actually confused whom to support, the Govt or Baba Ramdev's views. Should I actually believe the truth of "THE BLACK NIGHT" termed by Baba Ramdev or should I actually listen to the Govt. saying Baba should not be the one teaching them the ruling policies... Too much for me to digest!!! I am all neutral...

Ohk, this blog post is not on the fight between Baba Ramdev and Congress...MeMorieS is on the past few years with my seniors. The farewell part, I just hate it.... Why do we have to bid farewell to our close and dear ones??? :(

There come a few people into your lives who actually create an impact on you, leave their footprints behind and you are glad you had them as a part of your life. This passing out batch from my college gave me a few of them whom I'll always remember and the memories will be cherished forever. In this blog, I would like to thank them individually.

Ipsa Akankshya : Thank you so much for everything. I had actually got very close to you.Thank you for all the conversations (meaningful and otherwise)  we have had, for being the person to make me realize some of the most important things in my life and for the lovely smile you gave whenever we crossed. :)
Ashraf Adil : Thank you for being an amazing elder brother, for showering your love and concern, for pulling my legs whenever you got an opportunity to, and for the last talk before you left.
Pratyush Mishra : Thank you for you love and support especially at the hard times, for the cheering messages, for showing your faith on me and for pushing me to do better all the time and boosting my self-confidence!
Priyanka Mohanty : You were the sweetest and most innocent person out there. Thank you for always being there to listen to whatever I had to say, and for forgiving the retard in me.
Shahbaz Sarik : Thank you so much for creating an impact on me both knowingly and unknowingly, you always have been an inspiration and a person to look up to, for clearing the MM doubts and for not reacting even when you lost many of your belongings (your lappy, Broadcom, etc) coz of my badua! :(
Jiten Patnaik : Thank you so much for being a friend amongst the seniors, for tolerating my retards, for your mind blowing songs, for Jeerang trip, and for considering me 'lucky'.
Stuti Pandey : Thank you again for considering me worthy to handle the responsibilities and I am so sorry for letting you down, and for making me realize that anything can be achieved if truly desired!

We now live as shifting sands,
few ever knowing where we will land,
each path is different, some even harder than most
The winds are turbulent, their ways wiley
We may never know where we finally settle
but as the tornado surrounds
we can say
we will never, ever forget the beauty of the time we spent together.

You people where lovely and I'll miss you, the college will miss you.
All of you'll have been an inspiration in my life and my life would have been truly incomplete without you'll. Thank you for everything..

Bringing the curtains down…

What an amazing 51 days of cricket extravaganza it has been. Pure Cricket and True Entertainment. CSK (Chennai Super Kings) once again have proved to be the kings in the championship. They deserve all credit and respect.

IPL had in it, all the masala, fireworks, heartbreaks, oooffssss and aaahhhhsss, fashion, gossip and of course the late night IPL parties. Though analysts say that this edition of the IPL was not a major hit, it does not bother the cricket fans; we got to see a world class play.
Throughout my life, I have been a devoted fan of cricket. Cricket is my lifelong passion. Until last season I supported KXIP (Punjab) and DD (Delhi), but then this season brought along with it a shuffle in the teams, and also the inclusion of two new team’s i.e. KTK (Kochi) and PWI (Pune). For this edition and also the upcoming two editions I am supporting Pune and RCB (Bangalore). These two teams have almost all my favorite players and so it was hard for me to choose one. Pune had a tough luck this year and I am sure they will strike back good the next year.

And for Bangalore, you were very good. I feel proud to be supporting you. :)

There were a quite a many highlight moments in this season of IPL i.e. IPL IV.
  • Lalit Modi, the brain behind this cricketing revolution was sorely missed this year. He was the man to take IPL to indeterminate heights, coagulate BOLLYWOOD and CRICKET, and bring to us all the great cricket players across the globe not playing for their nations but according to the market forces. God alone knows what the truth is behind all the politics going on, but this man will always be remembered whenever we’ll talk about Cricket in India. Bangalore franchise owner Siddharth Mallya compared the IPL without Modi to 'sugarfree candyfloss'.

  •  70 league matches, 3 play-offs and then a big final were actually too much cricket, which eventually led to injuries and fatigues’ to the players.

  •  No one had heard of Paul Valthaty before IPL IV, and today his name is counted among the biggest sensations of IPL. He came in handy both with his batting and bowling for his team KXIP and who will dare forget his stunning 120 against Chennai. At one point in the tournament he was fighting with Sachin Tendulkar for the Orange Cap and not to forget Gilchrist comparing Valthaty with himself.

Paul Valthaty a young boy with incredible talent, hope he goes a long way :)

  • The other find of this season was Rahul Sharma of PWI. This kid had always wanted to do something big, but horror struck him when he was found suffering Bell's Palsy disorder. Coming form the stage, then, where he could not even move his jaw, to now, where he grabbed 16 wickets for his team in 14 matches was amazing.

  • The maestro Sachin Tendulkar got himself a 100 in this shortest version of cricketing. Is there anything that he hasn’t yet achieved on the field??? I bow down humbly to you Sir.

  • This edition of IPL had only one hero, Chris Gayle of RCB brought nightmares to bowlers; he was unforgiving with the bat and deadly with the ball. He thrashed and smashed and smacked and crushed every bowler’s plan, and when he came down to bowling he was a very economical bowler. There was a buzz everywhere that whenever Gayle strikes RCB wins, not too big an exaggeration for the man who’s every stroke flew to or over the boundary lines. It was a bliss watching him play. And not to forget Chris Gayle was dropped from the first auctions, am pretty sure other team owner’s might be cursing themselves and also RCB for being so lucky.

  • This year team owners tested themselves by getting down to the field wearing batting pads, gloves and playing a few over match.

It was exciting to see Preity Zinta hit a four and then jump around with joy flashing her lovely dimples, in a match played between KXIP and DC (Hyderabad) managerial body.

The Indian Liquor baron Mr. Vijay Mallya at the age of 57 was also seen playing a few strokes and then fielding in the slip position against the KKR (Kolkata) lead by the man Shah Rukh Kan himself.

  • Shah Rukh Khan for the first time in the history of IPL had something to cheer about. His team KKR sans Sourav Ganguly, finally played some good cricket and reached the play-offs where they where bid farewell by MI (Mumbai). Their last league match against MI denied them of the second position in the tables and also a chance to play in the Champions Trophy. Well, all I can say is good luck next time. Well done, captain Gautam Gambhir! :)
  • The Bangalore and the Chennai team have qualified for the Champions Trophy for three times in a row. Congratulations!!!
  • Virat Kohli, my favourite (since a past few monthsJ ) did a terrific job as a batsman, a fielder and also as a captain for a few matches. It was during his captaincy that RCB emerged as one of the trophy favorites (I know it happened after Gayle’s arrival, but I love Kohli). Kohli for sure has lot of good cricket in him and I won’t be surprised seeing him replacing Sachin Tendular or say Rahul Dravid (no, the first one is better!) after 5-7 years.
  • Awww…ww Shane Warne declared to retire from IPL after giving a lot to RR (Rajasthan Royals). He will be surely missed. He will always be remembered for the way he had turn around the table for RR in the inauguration edition from underdogs to Champions. In his last match, he was up against his deadliest rival of all times, Sachin Tendulkar and all praise to this man for retiring on a winning note. Before his last game, Shane was fined $50,000 for his part in a public row with Rajastan Cricket Association Secretary Sanjay Dixit.
  • Was it only his play in the IPL for which Sane Warne will be remembered? Obviously not! Thanks to him, IPL had Liz Hurley watching the games; his sensational lip-lock with Liz after his last match too will be remembered.
  • Lip-lock reminded me of the sweet hug-kiss between Sid Mallya and Bollywood queen Deepika Padukone. This picture is registered in the best moments of IPL. They match each other perfectly and daddy Mallya too has no objections. Happy. :)
  • When Bollywood is around parties and fashion is always included. With SRK, Gauri, Sakshi Dhoni, Hrithik Roshan, Priyanka Chopra, Deepika Padukone, Preity Zinta, Shilpa Shetty, Sen sisters (Riya and Raima), Arjun Rampal in the stands glamour  had to be there. Sakshi Dhoni with her shades and girly bracelets has emerged as a new fashion icon after this IPL edition. Fashion Police now have their eyes on you lady!
  • When I talked about fashion, was anyone reminded of the disgusting jersey of Kochi Tuskers… eeeeks! It was such a horrible color combination. Orange and Purple separately are two very good colors, but when combined together it looks repulsive.

I hope they change their jersey next  season and who knows luck might change for them too!

This is my lengthiest blog post, isn’t it? No fault of mine though, when it comes to cricket, I just can’t stop writing or even thinking. But warning you, this is not the end of my post. I tried to summarize the whole of IPL IV, I am sure you might be now thinking what a fool head I am. I mentioned everything starting from cricket, to fashion, to bright stars and I did not mention one thing. Well, I was saving it for the last; this incident in IPL will be remembered not only in India, but across the globe in the ages to come. Whenever there will be a talk on Sports spirit and love of a player for his game, the name of King of comebacks, Sourav Ganguly will always be mentioned.

The handsome and charming prince of Kolkata, Sourav Ganguly , who was a few months ago, until Dhoni won the World Cup, tagged as India’s most successful captain had to undergo ample of humiliation. To all cricket lovers’ surprise he was not picked up by any team in all the three rounds of auction, and it was pain to see owners choose local unknown players over him. When the game began rumors spread of him joining as a mentor for KKR, but no, then there were talks of his inclusion in PWI, but no, he was finally seen cheering for KKR from the stands. This sight was actually heart-breaking. How could one of best India’s captain, who himself had scored more than 17,000 international runs cheering for a team when he himself wanted to go down with the bat and start smashing it? When everyone was sure that we would call it quits he was spotted in the PUNE’s black jersey. This man was in love with cricket since his childhood and he has it in him to play till he wants. The world witnessed it in his game against the Deccans, his every single run was applauded by the viewers, many had tears in their eyes, and many saluted his undying love for the game. There was nothing astonishing when a man came running to the crease to touch his feat while he was batting.

Ganguly, India is proud to have you and it is always a treat to watch you playing (especially your 6’s, you hit the best 6’s ever!). I salute the sportsman in you; this season of IPL IV belongs to you and I dedicate you this post of mine :)

DiDi and Poriborton

Hello! Back after many a days… To be honest, I was trying to study for my exams but a lethargic like I, will never be able to. Huff!!!

Meanwhile, an enormous change has been brought around the nation in the last One week. TamilNadu is taken over by Jayalatitha and Mamata Banerjee single handedly threw the CPM out of power.

It was taken as obvious that people in Karnataka would not like Karunanidhi to win because leading leaders of his party, including his daughter where charged in the 2G scam. But the change or “Poriborton” in WB has created a history. She won over the more than three-decade-old communist government to become the first women CM in WB. WB is celebrating the color GREEN. When the lady was the Railway Minister at the Central Govt. she ensured that her home state was well looked after. And today when she is the CM here, she says that she is proud of her state. Well done lady! I(WE) are proud of you.

Well, I am actually very impressed and carried away by her, her simplicity, her decency, her white sari and chappals, her boldness, her confidence and her humbleness. She is a clever woman and I salute the fighter within her. Hours after being sworn in as the CM and reciting her oath in Bengali, she remembered her fight for Singur and promised the people to return them their lands. The lady walked on foot from Raj Bhawan to Writers Building for her oath ceremony, and was cut on her arm and foot in the jostling and pushing of the crowd. She very humbly refused to go in the car because she wanted to acknowledge the people welcoming her. Now which minister in India would this?

She is so determined on working for the people that she ignores to use Bullet-proof cars as she does not want to spend public money for her security. I wish Mayawati, who spent crores of public money on her statue alone and leave aside the lakhs she spends on her Birthday every year, hears her.
Where we know ministers flooded with cash and properties, this new CM of Bengal does not even own a car. She still wears her trademark chappals and white cotton saree gifted by the public.

I am reminded of Anil Kappor’s movie Nayak, his heroic deeds, and only I wish is seeing the reel CM and his laudable works in the real life. And, why I believe this lady is determined to do it!
I was never a fan of this lady Mamata Banerjee before, but now she has drawn all my attention towards her. I gotta study, my exams nearing, please pray that I do good. Will, keep posting. :)
